A Simple Guide to a Healthy Lymphatic System

First, let’s dive into what the lymphatic system is and what it does for the body!

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of any toxins, waste or other unwanted junk. You can think of it as the garbage collector. A very important job, without it our other body systems cannot run smoothly.

The lymphatic system is often compared to the circulatory system, but instead of blood it carries lymph. Although, unlike the circulatory system that has your heart to pump blood throughout your system, the lymphatic system has no organ to circulate lymph. So, in order to keep it healthy we have to keep it moving!

Some products I like to use everyday to ensure I’m keeping my lymphatic system healthy are:

Natural bristle brush: Using a natural bristle brush you can do a technique called dry brushing. Dry brushing is used in many cultures as a wellness ritual for different health benefits. This is something you can include in your routine everyday before a shower. It helps to stimulate blood flow, move lymph through the body and remove dead cells from the skin. Overall helping the body to eliminate any buildup.

Gua Sha tool: There are many different types of Gua Sha tools, the one I use is a rose quartz stone. These tools are used to “scrape the skin” to enhance blood flow and encourage lymphatic drainage in the face. Our face is just as important as the rest of our body!
