Iced Mocha Protein Shake

This drink makes the perfect morning pick-me up or post-work out shake! It has energy boosting properties from the coffee and cacao powder and it also has protein to help build lean muscle and balance blood sugar levels.

This drink is so refreshing and tasty with flavours of coffee and chocolate- the perfect combination!

What you’ll need to make this iced mocha protein shake:

Coffee: I almost always have a bit of coffee leftover from my morning pot that I didn’t finish and this is the perfect way to use it up. You want to make sure it is cooled so it blends nicely with the other ingredients!

Protein powder: You can use any protein powder you like, I like either a vanilla or chocolate flavoured one best.

Cacao powder: this is what gives it that chocolatey flavour, I like to use raw cacao powder to ensure I’m getting maximum benefits from it but regular cocoa powder works as well.

Almond milk: this ensures you get a nice creamy consistency in your shake but you can use whatever milk you like.

Ice: to get that frappe like consistency I like blending in some ice cubes but this is optional. You can add whole ice cubes after to keep the drink cold.

Nutrition per portion

Ingredients
  • 1 cup coffee, cooled
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon cacao powder
Method
  1. Add ingredients to a blender and blend until combined
  2. Pour into a glass and enjoy
